How long is each class or
session?
Each class & session is 55 minutes long. Please
try to arrive on time to enjoy your class. If you’re late, you’re teacher
may make you do an extra set of the Hundred. 😉
What do I wear?
You can wear any clothing that makes you feel
comfortable and that you can move in. Leave your shoes at the door, as
Pilates is best done in bare feet, but you may wear socks if you like. If
you want help with your clothing, our helpful staff in the boutique can get
you set up.
What is your
cancellation/refund policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for all
class reservations and booked appointments. This means, if you fail to
cancel less then 24 hours, you will be charged as if you attended. Now, we
are reasonable people and realize that life may be unpredictable. Sometimes
you get sick suddenly, your car breaks down etc. Of course we will not
charge you in these instances. But you you continually do not show up or
ALWAYS cancel last minute, you will be charged the full amount.
All of
our Pilates Service packages are non-refundable but they may be
transferable. This means, you may transfer any unused classes into credit
for another service (eg. remaining mat classes towards an equipment
package). You may also share your classes packages with a family member
(monthly unlimited passes are excluded). In the rare instance of severe
injury or illness, you may receive an refund with a Doctor’s note stating
you are not well enough to continue.
All boutique items may be returned
WITH ORIGINAL RECEIPT & TAGS within 14 days of purchase for a refund. Sale
items are FINAL SALE.
I'm pregnant. Is Pilates safe
for me?
Every pregnancy is different. If you have never
done Pilates, we recommend getting your Doctor’s ok to start. Clients who
have regularly done Pilates can go through their pregnancy just with
modifying based on their needs in class. We’ve had several practice through
their full term, but everyone is different. If you’re new, we recommend
either private sessions or our Prenatal Class when offered.
I have an injury? I don't feel
very fit....can I do this?
Absolutely. If you are nervous or hesitant to
start, private sessions are the way to go. 🙂
What level do I start at? Do I
start Beginner even if I come from another studio or have learned from a
DVD?
Pilates styles and techniques can vary greatly so
we always recommend taking at least one Beginner class to learn the
technique and and full bodied style that we teach. It will set you up for
success on your journey.
What is the difference between
the class levels?
Our beginner classes are purposefully slower
paced with lots of technique broken down. The Intermediate levels are a
faster pace with historical choreographed transitions to keep the body’s
heat and charge. We also add more inverted work the the intermediate levels.
The Advanced levels are fast, typically performing either the complete mat
or reformer repertoire. Students in advanced classes will already know the
choreographed transitions and names of exercises and we really work depth of
movement at a swift pace. It’s the ultimate Return to Life experience. 🙂
How many times per week should
I do Pilates?
Like anything, consistence is the key to success.
You can see results in as little as once/week, but expect it to happen at a
slower pace. We love seeing great changes in students who come twice per
week, ideally in both the mat and equipment. In our Joseph Pilates
Challenge, students often come 3 times per week and the improvements are
significant. In his book, “Return to Life” Joseph Pilates recommends 4 times
per week. Ultimately you need to decide what is best for you, what are your
goals, and what can you fit into your lifestyle.
Can men do Pilates
ABSOLUTELY!! Pilates was originally designed by a
men, for men. We have many male clients of all ages and we encourage
everyone to come.
